4 Ways Guest Posting Increases Website Traffic

4 Ways Guest Posting Increases Website Traffic. There aren’t many better ways to get people to visit your website than with a good guest post. A well-written guest post is a strong way to market your business because it brings people to your website and gives your brand the unstated endorsement of the hosting site. It also gives your website a natural, relevant backlink.

Additionally, not every guest post is made equal. There is a big difference between getting a guest post on a well-known authority blog in your industry and having an SEO spammer post your content on a no-name blog.

Keep these tips in mind if you really want to benefit from good guest posting:

Tip #1 — Post to relevant websites

Many websites let you post guest posts, but that doesn’t mean all of them are good places to start your guest blogging effort!

Stick to posting to websites in your industry or areas that are closely related to yours for the best results. You won’t get as many visitors to your site if you try to fit your area of knowledge into a piece that has nothing to do with it. This is because the visitors probably won’t be interested in your on-topic content, and the link will have less of an impact on your SEO.

By using guest posts on sites related to the industry, Ryan Stewart from Webris was able to increase a client’s traffic by 636.72%.

    Tip #2 — Post to well-known websites

But even sites in your industry might not be good places to write guest posts if they’re new and/or don’t get many visitors.

If you post to a site that doesn’t already have a following, you probably won’t get a lot of great traffic from other sites. The link ownership you’ll get from this type of deal isn’t as strong either, since search engines tend to value links from well-known sites more than links from smaller sites that compete with them.

At the beginning of your campaign, you might not be able to land any “big fish” guest post spots. But you can work your way up by using high-quality pieces released on smaller sites to show bigger targets how valuable you are.

Tip #3 — Deliver the best content possible

The best of your skills should be represented in the content you submit if you happen to land a guest spot on any website. There are two reasons why this is important…

To begin, search engines have made it their job to reward websites with good content. Their formulas aren’t quite smart enough yet to make sure that the best results are at the top of every search result, but they’re working hard to get there. Because of this, it is in your best interest to create excellent content, whether it is for your own website or for a different one.

You should also keep in mind that most web groups are much smaller than you might think. If you send a bad guest post to one site, people might find out that you don’t keep your end of the guest author deal. This could make it harder for you to get high-profile guest gigs in the future.

Tip #4 — Drive visitors to custom landing pages

When you get an offer to write a guest post, you can usually include one to three links back to your company website. You can increase the chance that any newly acquired visitors will stick around and connect with your brand by sending them to custom landing pages, even though most guest authors use these links to point back to their home pages.

Any of the following things could be on these landing pages:

    • An acknowledgment of the site that sent you here

    • A hand-picked list of posts on your site that are related and that new visitors might like
    • Links to your social media pages
    • A way to sign up for an email newsletter
    • Incentives to do anything else that helps your business’s bottom lineIt might sound like a lot of extra work, but once you’ve made a template for this, it only takes a few minutes to create a new unique landing page.

To create the results you want, just make sure to improve it.
