    How To Change a Password in TeamViewer

    How To Change a Password in TeamViewer. If you use TeamViewer, you know how important it is to add an extra layer of security whenever you log in. TeamViewer lets you look at devices from afar, which makes them vulnerable to hackers. Nobody wants to take the chance of their private information getting into the wrong hands. This is one reason why changing your password as often as possible is essential. This tutorial shows you the various methods you can use to give you peace of mind.

    Change the Password Remotely

    You can change your TeamViewer password using one of two methods. Either the Management Console or the client app can be used. Let’s begin with the client app.

    1. Launch the TeamViewer PC client app.

    2. Go to the menu and press “Extras” then “Options.”

    3. Go to the panel on the left-hand side and tap “Computers and Contacts.”

    4. Input your login information into the section on the right side of the screen.

    5. Hover the mouse over the password field and input your new password.

    6. In the dialogue box that appears, type your new password and the old one again.

    7. To apply the changes, click “OK.”

    Using the client app, you changed your TeamViewer password. Here’s how to do it on a Mac:

    1. Please navigate to the TeamViewer icon in the top right corner of your Mac and click on it while holding down the control key.

    2. On the left side of the screen, press “Preferences” and then “Account.”

    3. Input the new password in the “Password” and “Confirm Password” fields.

    Your Mac has now changed your TeamViewer password.

    Now, let’s look at how to change the TeamViewer password using the management console.

    1. Use your web browser to sign in to your TeamViewer account.

    2. On the right side of the page, click on your profile name.

    3. To access the dropdown menu, tap on the avatar.

    4. Go to the “Security” tab after pressing “Edit Profile.”

    5. Input your current password after selecting “Change Password.”

    6. Enter and re-enter your new password, then click “Change Password.”

    You have now used the management console to change the password on TeamViewer.

    Changing a Password From the Command Line

    Using TeamViewer’s command line, you can change the password. But in Windows, this won’t work. Here’s how to do it in Linux:

    1. Open Command Prompt in TeamViewer.

    2. Enter the following command line: sudo teamviewer passwd [password]

    3. Enter your new password once you’ve reached the password section.

    Using the registry, you can export a password for Windows as follows:

    1. Tap the Settings button in TeamViewer.

    2. Click “Advanced” and then “TeamViewer Options.”

    3. Select “Export Options to a *. reg file” and click “Export.”

    4. In the designated field, type your reg file password.

    5.Select the file options you want to export.

    6. Uncheck everything but “Export Personal Password.”

    7. Enter and confirm your new password.

    Import it right away:

    1. Tap “Extras,” “Options,” “Advanced,” and then “TeamViewer Options” to import the password.

    2. Select “Import options from *. reg file” and then click “Import.”

    3. Pick the appropriate *.reg file and click to open it.

    TeamViewer now accepts your new password.

    Changing a Password After Session

    For the upcoming session, TeamViewer lets you generate a random password. After your session, you can set this up as follows.

    1. Tap the icon in the top right corner of the screen that looks like a gear.

    2.  Go to “Advanced” and then “Advanced settings for connections to this computer.”

    3.  Select “Generate new” from the drop-down menu under “Random password after each session.”

    Following your session, you have now changed your TeamViewer password.

    The password for TeamViewer can be set up as a randomly generated sequence that changes each time the service is started. Even if you have unattended access set up, the password will change every time you restart the platform. Find out how to make it change on its own.

    1.  Click “Remote Control” to launch TeamViewer.

    2. Find the “Password” section and move your mouse over it.

    3. To create a new password automatically, tap the circular arrow that appears.
