How to Find Your iPhone’s GPS Coordinates. There will be moments when you need to know the exact coordinates of a particular location. For example, you might be hiking and have lost the group or just been in an accident. You should send a friend your location so you can meet up. No matter the reason, it’s always good to know how to find your exact location with the accuracy of a satellite.

But don’t worry. You can get your iPhone’s coordinates in a few different ways. Just keep reading to find out how.

How to Find Your iPhone’s GPS Coordinates

There are several ways to check your GPS coordinates on your iPhone. You can use the built-in options or services from outside the app. We’ll review them all so you can pick the best option for you.

    “Hey, Siri!”

Siri is Apple’s amazing helper. You can do many things with her as long as you can connect to the Internet. Siri is not only helpful, but she is also quick and very smart.

Saying, “Hey Siri, what are my GPS coordinates?” is the best way to find out what they are on an iPhone. “Hey, Siri, what’s my current location?” is another option.

Now, a map with your address and your Longitude and Latitude at the bottom will pop up.

If Siri doesn’t answer when you say “Hey Siri,” hold the Siri button (on the right side of newer phones) or the home button (on older phones) for a few seconds. But if Siri doesn’t answer or gives you an error message, it could be because your internet connection is bad.

If Siri doesn’t work for you, you can find your coordinates in other places on an iPhone.

    Using the Compass

Your iPhone does have a Compass built right in. The great thing about Compass on your iPhone is that it will work even if you are not connected to the Internet. To use this part, you must first enable it in your iPhone’s Settings.

To enable your Compass, follow these instructions:

    1.  Open your iPhone’s Settings and tap on Compass.
    2.  Tap where you are.

    3. Now, enable your location choice and turn on the switch next to “Precise Location.”

Once that’s done, you can go to the Compass app, which will show your current location and GPS coordinates.

You can also tap the Compass to hold your original place while you move around. The iPhone’s Compass is a great feature for people who like to go on adventures.

    Using Apple Maps

There are plenty of built-in ways to get your GPS coordinates on an iPhone. In addition to the two options above, you can also use Apple Maps to find the Longitude and Latitude of your current location.

Open Apple Maps and tap your location to do this. Then, go to the base of the page to see your coordinates. Siri gives you the same information but in fewer steps.

    Third-Party Options

If, for some sense, none of these work for you, you still have other options. Both Google Maps and Waze give iPhone users GPS coordinates.

    Google Maps

Most people use Google Maps because it is, without a doubt, the best guidance app in the App Store. They have a lot of information about towns and places that are less populated. You have two options if you want to use Google Maps to find GPS coordinates.

    1. If you move to maps.google.com and type in the address you want, it will show you the address and a street-view picture of the place. But if you peek at the address bar at the lid of the screen, you can see the coordinates in the URL. After a string of words, like www.google.com/maps/place/surrey+british+colombia+canada/@22.164554.-43.845236, you will see the coordinates.

If you want to get the coordinates from a location that doesn’t appear on Google Maps, you can right-click on the screen, and a “What’s here?” option will pop up. If you click that, it will show you the location’s coordinates instead.

If you’re not using your GPS tracker, you can also turn it off. To do this, go to “settings” and “location service.” You can turn “location services” on or off by tapping the button next to it. Save your changes, and you’ll be good to go.

    Waze for iPhone

The Waze navigation app is another popular option for iPhone users. At first look, this app doesn’t show the Longitude and Latitude of your current location. However, you can effortlessly enable this feature by:

    1.  Tap the Search field when Waze is open. Then type ##coords and press the Enter key.
    2.  Then, tap OK in the next box that comes up.

    3.  Now, the coordinates of your position will show up at the top of the screen.

If you choose to use a third-party navigation app, you should turn on this feature.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some more answers to help you find your friends or share your location.

Can I see my phone’s coordinates using Find my iPhone?

If you aren’t with your phone, using iCloud or Find My iPhone can be hard to get the Longitude and Latitude. Even though the service may give you an address, it doesn’t give you the exact coordinates.

How accurate is Apple’s coordinate function?

It’s accurate, but you wouldn’t want to sail with it as your only plan. In the end, the technology depends on your gadget’s hardware and software. If one is broken, the whole system is broken.

The Compass on your iPhone needs to be calibrated occasionally, and if you need a good network link, who knows if it’s accurate?

Who knew your iPhone had many ways to find your GPS coordinates? So use one of these easy and quick ways to get your coordinates the next time you get lost or a friend needs to find you. No matter which one you use, Google Maps, Compass, or Waze, you’ll be happy to know they all give you your exact location. So don’t worry. These apps will make sure you never get lost again.
