Have you ever felt bad about deleting a Facebook status update? You might have deleted it by accident and now need it back. Or perhaps you were planning to declutter your feed but are changing your mind.

Fortunately, Facebook has made it easy to recover deleted posts, and this guide will show you how to do it.

The Trash feature of Facebook is now available (Recycle Bin for iOS).

Even after you delete a Facebook post, people can still see it in their feeds. It has been sent to a secret trash folder instead. Facebook keeps posts in the Trash for 30 days before deleting them.

If you accidentally delete a post or change your mind about deleting it, you have up to 30 days to recover it.

There may be some differences in where the icons are placed between the Facebook app for Android and Facebook.com, but the process for returning deleted posts is the same.

    1. Open up your favorite online browser and go to Facebook.
    2. Look at your profile.
    3. Pick the Archive choice when the ellipsis shows up.
    4. In the corner, you should see a trash can icon. Click on it.
    5. Click the ellipsis next to the post you want to recover, then choose Restore to profile.

What Happens to a Facebook Post When You Delete It vs. When You Archive-It

Remember that deleting a Facebook status post is different from archiving it. A post will be moved to the Trash as soon as you delete it and will stay there for 30 days before living deleted for good.

But archiving a Facebook post doesn’t delete it; it just takes it off your profile. You can always look at or recover old posts that have been saved.

Not Even the Trash Can Can Help You Find Your Message?

Not all comments that have been moved are permanently removed from the site. Without entering the Trash, it vanishes right away when you delete a picture from your folder. It needs to be made clear why that’s the case.

For example, you added seven photos to your profile and then deleted the fourth one. With no trash entering, the fourth folder will be deleted. The entire post, including all seven pictures, would be moved to the Trash instead.

If a post has been in the Trash folder for more than 30 days, you might not be able to find it. You won’t be able to find a job deleted more than a month ago in Facebook’s Trash folder because posts are deleted for good after 30 days.

Is It Better to Delete or Archive Facebook Posts?

This question has something to do with why you’re deleting the Facebook posts. If you want to declutter the information in your feed, archiving is the best option. But deleting a post is the best way to get rid of it for good.

For future use, it is best to archive it. If you need help decidinghether to delete or archive a Facebook post, it’s better to archive it so you can find it again later. In case you change your mind, you can get it back.
